By JACK STAPLEHURST The versatile attacker has just over a year left on his current deal at Old Trafford. And United’s top rivals are ready to take advantage of Lingard’s situation. Arsenal have apparently been tracking the 24-year-old’s progress. According to The Sun, Chelsea are now very much in the hunt too as Conte feels Lingard can shine in his system at Stamford Bridge. The Italian’s 3-4-3 set-up could see the England international feature as a wing-back or out wide in Chelsea’s front line. Under Jose Mourinho, Lingard has largely been deployed on the right side of attacking midfield, and Conte can see him adapting to the Blues’ style. As things stand, Manchester United could lose their academy product for free next summer, with no new contract on the table yet. Mourinho is said to be aware of Lingard’s situation which will need sorting soon withChelsea and Arsenal prepared to swoop this summer. Even though the United ace has scored some important goals in his Old Trafford career, such as in last season’s FA Cup final and the EFL Cup final this term, his long-term future is in doubt. Conte wants to bolster his options out wide this summer to provide Victor Moses competition for a place, and Arsenal may need to replace a host of first-team players looking to leave.
