Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is a “much better” coach at Manchester United than he ever was at Chelsea because he has become more mature.
The Portuguese coach was appointed as Manchester United’s new manager back in the summer of 2016 after he was sacked by Chelsea in December 2015 following a miserable run of form with the Blues.
Mourinho led Manchester United to the Europa League and League Cup title in his first campaign in charge at Old Trafford last season and is now targeting the Premier League with his new club.
The Red Devils have made a brilliant start to the new campaign, with Mourinho’s men currently second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea after they kicked off their title defence in 2015-16 with a miserable run of form which left them closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table.
And the Portuguese coach now insists that he has learnt a lot from his second reign at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to Portuguese newspaper Record, Mourinho said: :I am a much better coach today, precisely because of the different control of my emotions.
“The way I deal with difficulties. I feel more mature.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action after the international break next weekend with a crunch clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
