UEFA Ban: Man City To Sell Sterling, De Bruyne, Laporte, Strip Of 2014 Premier League Title

Following the ban placed on Manchester City by UEFA, the club will now resolve to sell leading players such as Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Aymeric Laporte, according to DailyMail.

This will happen if their appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport fails.

UEFA slammed City a two-year ban from the Champions League and other European competitions on Friday.

Pep Guardiola’s side also faces the possibility of being stripped their 2014 Premier League title.

This will happen if a separate Premier League investigation were to find that they had breached financial rules, which the club had already denied.

City have insisted that they will be cleared of breaches of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.

The period under investigation would appear to be from 2012 to 2016, as that is when UEFA’s CFCB states that the club overstated their sponsorship income.

If the appeal fails, it could also lead to a players’ exodus and speaking on this situation, ex-England star and BT pundit, Jermaine Jenas said: “From a player’s point of view… that’s not my fault as a player…”
